2023 Cheer Fees

Early Registration Cheer Fees (Price Increases after 4/19)
$400 – Seasonal Competition Team (Tiny Mite)
$450 – Regional & National Competition Team (MM, JPW, PW, JV)

*All athletes have a league fundraising obligation. Athletes can fulfill their obligations by 
A) Selling 15 dining discount cards or B) Paying $200 in lieu of selling cards

Due to the timing of uniform orders, we encourage those interested to sign up as early as possible, but no later than May 1st, 2024.

Tiny Mite Cheer (Ages 5-7)

Tiny Mite is a fun instructional level of cheer that teaches the basic principles of cheerleading and teamwork, while still having FUN!!!   The season starts August 1st and ends in November. During this time the cheerleaders will cheer at home and away games on the weekends. Practices are 1 to 2 nights a week for two hours, days of the week are determined by the cheer director and coach’s availability. 

This team will compete at a regional level at our Orange Empire conference in October, and if the team advances they will compete at the WESCON regional competition in November. In addition to these competitions, they will perform at the SMPW Opening Day Carnival, and SMPW Competition Season Kick-Off for family and friends. All games, practice and performances are mandatory per head coach’s discretion. Coach may have the option to compete at additional local competitions.

Regional and National Competition Cheer:

Mitey Mite – MM (7-9)
Junior Pee Wee – JPW (8-11)
Pee Wee – PW (9-12)
Junior Varsity – JV (10-13)

Our Competitive levels are broken up into five divisions: Mitey Mite, Junior Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Junior Varsity and Varsity. Cheerleaders are placed on teams/levels based on age, and what is best for the athlete’s development and the league. SMPW Cheer is highly competitive and sends teams to Nationals in Florida on an annual basis. Eight and Nine year olds with prior SMPW experience may be moved up to a competitive level; please see a cheer coordinator for consideration. Competitive Cheer is a dedicated sport that requires full participation and commitment from each athlete. The season starts August 1st and has the possibility to continue throughout March with multiple State and National competitions.

Competition Cheer will compete at our local conference competition, if advancing they will move on to Wescon Regional Competition, and Pop Warner Nationals the 1st week in December in Orlando Florida if they continue to advance. These teams will attend the JAMZ cheer camp event to kick off the season, and perform at our annual SMPW Opening Day Carnival as well as our SMPW Competition showcase for family and friends. They will also cheer at home and away football games on the weekends that start at the end of August. All practices, football games, performances and competitions are mandatory and an attendance policy will be strictly enforced.

The regular season ends at the end of October and playoffs continue until the end of November. Cheerleaders will continue to cheer for football teams at games as long as their football team continues in playoffs.
Eight and Nine year olds with prior cheer experience may be moved up to a competitive level at the coordinator's discretion; please contact our cheer coordinator for consideration.

Practice for Competitive Cheer starts 4-5 nights a week in August 2 hours a night and will drop to 3 nights a week after Labor Day. Cheering at games the weekend prior to competition and attendance at all practices the week of competition are mandatory. All coaches are Pop Warner Practice days, times and locations will be determined by the cheer director and team head coach.

NOT INCLUDED IN REGISTRATION:
Travel deposit/Competition Fees + Competition Uniform payment is non-refundable if the participant voluntarily drops or is removed from any team.
